SYCAMORE – State Representative Jeff Keicher, R-Sycamore, has been appointed a member of the following Illinois House committees responsible for K-12 education policy and oversight: Elementary & Secondary Education: School Curriculum & Policies Committee Elementary & Secondary Education: Licensing, Administration & Oversight Committee
“My goal is to reduce the number of unfunded mandates on our local schools and put greater control of curriculum and education policy decisions back in the hands of locally-elected school boards in consultation with their school administrators, educators and parents,” Representative Keicher said. “Springfield must stop adding financial burdens onto local schools that property taxpayers are ultimately on the hook for. I intend to work across the aisle with like-minded Democrats and Republicans to support local control of schools.”
Illinois House committees will next meet when the Illinois General Assembly returns to Springfield for the annual Fall Veto Session beginning on November 13.
