Rep. Keicher Speaks Out to Protect NIU Students

State Rep. Jeff Keicher, R-Sycamore, speaks during debate in opposition to House Bill 217, legislation that would prohibit universities and colleges in Illinois, public or private, from inquiring about or considering an applicant’s criminal history during the admissions process, opening the door for convicted felons including those convicted of sex offenses to live in co-habitational dorms with other students. The bill was defeated by a vote of 40-60 on Friday.
