Local homeowners concerned about property taxes are invited to take a five-question online survey offered by State Representative Jeff Keicher, R-Sycamore, to help shape proposed solutions to be offered by the bipartisan Property Tax Relief Task Force by the end of this year.
The survey can be accessed by clicking HERE.
“Everywhere I go, people talk to me about the high cost of property taxes and how it impacts their family or their business,” Representative Keicher said. “Families cannot achieve or maintain the dream of homeownership and seniors on fixed incomes cannot afford to stay in their homes unless we take action and reform the system. Local feedback is instrumental to me as the task force works toward realistic solutions that reduce the property tax burden on local families in a meaningful and lasting way.”
The Property Tax Relief Task Force is required to submit a final report by December 31, 2019 with recommendations for both short and long-term solutions that can take an administrative, electoral or legislative approach. Representative Keicher plans to use feedback received from local residents who complete the online survey to help shape the task force’s recommendations.
Representative Keicher serves the 70th District, which includes portions of DeKalb, Kane and Boone Counties. Constituents with questions about the property tax survey are welcome to call Keicher’s District Office in Sycamore at (815) 748-3494.
