State Representative Jeff Keicher, R-Sycamore, issued the following statement today after the General Assembly voted to approve a state budget for FY 2021:
“At a time when families are suffering financial hardship and struggling to salvage their livelihoods during COVID-19, it is beyond disappointing that the General Assembly voted to approve a budget with a spending increase of $2 billion over last year. This will break on the backs of the Illinois taxpayer. We saw both Republicans and Democrats with concerns on this budget. It’s lacking accountability at a time when we have so much great need for things like mental health, cancer screenings, services for adults with disabilities, struggling small businesses and the unemployed.”
