State Representative Jeff Keicher, R-Sycamore, held two “Legislative Listening Tour” events on Monday to meet with local residents in McHenry and DeKalb Counties, respectively, to discuss state issues and legislation currently being considered in Springfield ahead of the Illinois General Assembly’s scheduled adjournment on April 8.

“With the spring legislative session underway, we wanted to give families and taxpayers in northern an opportunity to voice their concerns and ask questions about any state issues that are on their mind,” Representative Keicher said. “We covered a wide range of topics including agriculture, taxes, roads, energy, economic investment in our region, and how local residents can make an impact on the legislative process. I thank everyone who took time out of their day to be a part of the conversation!”

Keicher hosted his afternoon Listening Tour event at the Turnberry Golf Club in McHenry County with State Representatives Steve Reick, R-Woodstock, and Joe Sosnowski, R-Rockford; and an evening event at the Genoa Municipal Building in northern DeKalb County with State Representative Tony McCombie, R-Savanna.

Representative Keicher plans to co-host a series of “Coffee Chats” with Senator Dave Syverson in April and May to solicit community feedback and recap action taken during the 2022 legislative session.
