Illinois State Representative Jeff Keicher, R-Sycamore, has been named a 2021-22 Champion of Free Enterprise by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, an award given to legislators who have made special contributions to the defense of free enterprise and the furtherance of economic opportunities for Illinoisans. The award was presented by Keith Staats, Executive Director of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Tax Institute in Sycamore today.
“I am proud to stand with the men and women of our state and local business community,” Representative Keicher said. “They are the catalysts of growth and innovation here in northern Illinois and the far western suburbs. As a small business owner myself, I understand the challenges job creators face on a daily basis, particularly as we re-emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. Illinois faces challenges to once again become a beacon of job growth and opportunity that we once were, but working with the outstanding members of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, there are no limits to the success our state can achieve for job creators and working families alike.”
The Illinois Chamber rated all members of the 102nd General Assembly based on legislators’ votes on the key business legislation. The Champion of Free Enterprise Awards are given biennially to members with Illinois Chamber ratings averaging 85 percent or higher over the previous two General Assemblies who have demonstrated their commitment to legislation that frees the entrepreneurial spirit. Keicher received a rating of 89% during the 102nd General Assembly (2021-22).
