Rep. Keicher appointed to House GOP Leadership Team

State Representative Jeff Keicher, R-Sycamore, was appointed House Republican Conference Chairperson for the 103rd General Assembly on Thursday, joining the leadership team of new House Republican Leader Tony McCombie, R-Savanna. The Conference Chairperson is responsible for presiding over caucus meetings and facilitating the exchange of ideas on legislative policy proposals and effective strategies for advancing them through the legislative process.

“I am grateful to Leader McCombie for her confidence in selecting me to join our House Republican leadership team,” Rep. Keicher said.” The Illinois General Assembly has a lot of work to do in 2023. We will work to pass with our colleagues across the aisle needed policy changes to create jobs, strengthen schools, support our agriculture industry and enact meaningful and lasting property tax relief.  We also need to prioritize keeping our best and brightest students in Illinois after they graduate high school. Whether they choose to pursue a college education, attend a trade school, or start a career, we have to make Illinois a place of opportunity for everyone.  I believe in Illinois’ future and in my new leadership role as Caucus Chairman I pledge to focus on bringing people together to deliver meaningful results for the families each of us are privileged to serve.”

Representative Keicher has represented Illinois’ 70th District since July 2018, which following redistricting now includes portions of DeKalb, Kane, and McHenry Counties. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with over 20 years of professional experience in the insurance industry. In 2006, he opened his own State Farm Insurance Agency in Sycamore.

Representative Keicher’s community involvement includes having held executive board positions with the Sycamore Chamber of Commerce, the Sycamore Public Library, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) of Illinois and the Sycamore Rotary Club. He also spent many years serving on boards for the DeKalb Chapter of the American Red Cross, NAIFA Fox Valley, and the Kishwaukee YMCA.

Jeff resides in Sycamore with his wife, Karen, and their three children.
