This week, the House spent most of its time in committee hearings. One of the most somber and important pieces of legislation State Representative Jeff Keicher has been working on passed committee to honor the memory of DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputy Christina “Beana” Musil.

Senate Joint Resolution 35 Designates State Route 23 from Perry Road to McGirr Road as the “Deputy Sheriff Christina Musil Memorial Highway.”

“While naming a road in her honor is a small gesture, it is the least we can do to honor the life of someone who helped so many others,” said Keicher. “She set an incredible example for her children and our community. May her memory live on.

“I want to thank State Senator Sue Rezin for carrying the resolution in the Senate and IDOT for their assistance in making this designation a reality.

“Thank you to all our law enforcement and first responders for your selfless service and sacrifice to protect our communities.”
