The annual free Senior Health Fair hosted by Senate Minority Deputy Leader Sue Rezin (R-Morris), State Senators Dave Syverson (R-Cherry Valley) and Li Arellano, Jr (R-Dixon), House Minority Leader Tony McCombie (R-Savanna), and State Representatives Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore) and Bradley Fritts (R-Dixon) will return to DeKalb High School on Wednesday, July 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The free event will bring together dozens of local and state organizations to provide information on programs and services available to seniors. Attendees can also receive free vaccinations, blood pressure checks, legislative information, complimentary refreshments, and other health resources.
“Our seniors have spent their lives strengthening our communities, and we want to provide them with access to information and resources that can help them stay healthy, independent, and living their best lives,” said Senator Sue Rezin. “This health fair brings together valuable services, health screenings, and local organizations all in one place, and I hope local seniors and their families will take advantage of this opportunity.”
“I am proud to partner with my colleagues to bring health, wellness, and support resources directly to our senior community,” said House Minority Leader Tony McCombie. “This free event will connect seniors and their families with the services, information, and care they need to stay healthy, independent, and engaged.”
“Our seniors have done so much for our communities over the years, and this event is one small way we can give something back,” said Senator Syverson. “By making important health information and local resources easy to access, we’re helping connect people with services that can make a real difference. I hope everyone will join us.”
“Good health starts with having access to the right information and resources, and that’s exactly what this event provides,” said Senator Arellano. “We’re bringing organizations directly to our community that are committed to helping seniors live healthier, more independent lives. I encourage everyone to stop by and take advantage of this free event.”
“I’m very pleased to bring our long-running Senior Health Fair back for another year to help area seniors maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. It is consistently the event where we get asked when we are doing it again,” said Representative Keicher. “Not only is the Fair a great opportunity to bring our seniors in the community together, but it’s a great way for us to give back to them by offering a convenient way to access so many services they may benefit from.”
“I encourage all local seniors to come out for our free senior health fair!” said Representative Fritts. “This fair is a great resource that will allow seniors to receive multiple services at once. I always enjoy co-hosting this great event to support our local senior community.”
