State Representative Jeff Keicher is looking for hard-working and passionate summer interns. If you are outgoing, organized, engaged and want to experience working in a state legislative office, this may be the opportunity for you. The internship is a selective program that will provide high school and college students with the opportunity to experience state legislative work. The position is primarily based out of the District Office located in Sycamore but may involve work at satellite offices in Elburn and Hampshire, as well as throughout other parts of the 70th House District.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Constituent services – correspondence, casework, surveys
- Researching issues and assisting with drafting bills
- Participate in events on behalf of the Representative
- Work in the community and with local businesses alongside our outreach team
- Take part in the Representative’s advisory groups
- Travel to Springfield as needed
Requirements:
- College student or recent graduate, Junior/Senior high school student or recent graduate
- Current valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
- Interest in state government
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
The summer internship program will run from Monday, June 5 – Friday, August 4, 2023. Interns are expected to work a minimum of 80 hours during the internship program to receive compensation.
