Rep. Keicher Backed Legislation to Protect Clean Water Passes General Assembly

Today, the Illinois House of Representatives passed legislation to improve protections for clean water. Having already passed the Senate, the legislation now awaits a signature from the Governor to be signed into law.

State Representative Jeff Keicher supported the legislation, saying, “Preserving and strengthening our natural resources, like clean water, is very important to me. Not only is doing so critically important for public health and the environment, but it’s simply the right thing to do.

“During my first year in office, I was proud to support legislation (SB 1392) to curb the threat of microplastics in our water supply, and today we took it a step further. House Bill 2955, which passed the House this morning, applies the same steps to curbing microplastics in our water to PFAS.”
