Kane County residents are invited to attend a free seminar entitled “Understand & Learn How to Appeal Your Property Tax Assessment” sponsored by State Representative Keith Wheeler, R-Oswego, and State Representative Jeff Keicher, R-Sycamore,to be heldat 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14 at the American Legion Post 630 located at 112 N. Main Street in Elburn, Illinois.
Kane County Supervisor of Assessments Mark Armstrong will explain the process for determining property taxes and how to appeal if homeowners believe they are being over-assessed. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in the discussion about local property taxes. Representatives Wheeler and Keicher will provide an update on current efforts in the General Assembly to reform Illinois’ property tax system and reduce the burden on homeowners.
